Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-21
ROC SEO ("we") makes the ROC SEO Chrome extension and this website, getrocseo.com. This policy explains what data they handle. In short: audits, crawls and AI citation checks run in your own browser, we do not track you, and we never sell data.
The Chrome extension
What it reads. When you open the ROC SEO panel, it reads the page you are viewing (titles, meta tags, headings, links, images, structured data and page-speed timings) and fetches that same website's public HTML, /robots.txt and /llms.txt. When you run a site crawl, it fetches the pages of the website you entered. When you press "Check this answer" on an AI assistant page (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude or Google), it reads the question, answer text and links on your screen.
Where data is kept. Your settings, saved questions, citation history and the last 10 crawls are stored only in your browser. You can delete them in the extension or by removing it.
What is sent anywhere. The extension has no analytics. Without an account, nothing leaves your browser except these requests you start yourself:
- If you press "Test mobile" or "Test desktop", the page URL (and your PageSpeed API key, if you added one) is sent to Google's PageSpeed Insights API, under Google's privacy policy.
- If you connect your ROC SEO account with a connection key, the extension uploads to your account: crawl summaries (website address, crawl date, health score, totals, and each issue with up to 20 example URLs) and AI citation checks (the question, the AI engine, whether you were cited, the position, brand names found, and the list of cited website domains). It does not upload page text, the full AI answer, or anything from pages you did not audit. You can disconnect at any time, and delete this data from your account.
The extension never sends prompts to any AI service and never posts or types anything on websites.
This website
getrocseo.com sets no analytics or advertising cookies unless you accept them (see “Analytics cookies” below). Without your consent we only count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify or track individual visitors across sites; it gives us totals such as page views, countries and referring sites. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. If you email us, we use your email only to reply.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
When you first visit getrocseo.com we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Only if you press “Accept” do we load:
- Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors use the site (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and pages visited) and shows us heatmaps and session replays. It masks text typed into forms. Data is processed under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, which count visits, pages viewed, the country and device type, and where visitors came from. Data is processed under the Google Privacy Policy.
If you press “Decline”, neither loads. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. These tools run only on getrocseo.com, not in the ROC SEO extension or the dashboard.
Your ROC SEO account
If you sign in at app.getrocseo.com with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and store them with your websites, uploaded crawl summaries and AI citation checks. We use a cookie only to keep you signed in. Data is stored on Cloudflare in our account. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from the Account page.
Google Search Console (optional)
If you choose "Connect Google Search Console" in the app, Google asks you to give ROC SEO read-only access to your Search Console data (permission "View Search Console data for your verified sites"). We use it only to show you your own clicks, impressions, average position, top search queries and top pages for the websites you add, inside your ROC SEO account.
- We store the access Google gives us (an OAuth refresh token) encrypted, and the report data for up to 6 hours as a cache.
- We never change anything in your Search Console, never share this data with anyone, never sell it, and never use it for advertising or to train AI models.
- You can disconnect at any time on the Google Search page (we then delete the token and cached data), or remove ROC SEO at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
ROC SEO's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Paid plans (when available)
Payments will be handled by our payment provider (Paddle, acting as merchant of record), which processes your billing details under its own privacy policy. We will receive your name, email, country and subscription status, never your full card number. Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent personal data, use it for advertising, or use it for anything unrelated to providing ROC SEO.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use, by emailing support@getrocseo.com. We reply within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
